Privacy policy

Short version: if you sign up, I keep your first name and email address so I can send you the bonus content and my newsletter. I don't sell your data or share it with anyone except the email service that sends the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click.
Who is responsible for your data
This site and newsletter are run by the author writing as Max T. Walker. For any privacy question or request, write to contact@authormaxwalker.com.
What I collect
- Your email address and first name, when you sign up through the form.
- Signup details recorded by the email service: the date and time, the form you used, and your IP address. These are kept as proof of your consent.
- Email engagement: whether you open emails and click their links. This helps me see what readers want more of.
This site does not use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Why, and on what legal basis
I use your data to send the bonus content you asked for and the newsletter: new release news, early chapters and occasional reader votes. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You confirm it by signing up and by clicking the confirmation link in the first email.
Who processes it
The newsletter is run on MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Ireland). MailerLite stores and sends the emails on my behalf as a data processor. Its privacy policy is at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.
The site is hosted by Hostinger, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under the GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long I keep it
Until you unsubscribe. After that, your address is removed from the mailing list. MailerLite may keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe so you are never emailed again by mistake.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of every email;
- ask for a copy of the data I hold about you;
- ask me to correct it or delete it;
- withdraw your consent, which doesn't affect anything sent before you withdrew it;
- complain to a data protection authority. In Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl), or the authority in the country where you live.

Age
The books and the bonus content contain explicit scenes. The newsletter is for adults aged 18 and over only.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
